Artist Statement
Intensity for rousing the visual experience of an observer is my greatest power and delight as an artist. I want your stomach to hurt and your breath to catch as you experience my work.
Daring to massage the perceptions of others is an endeavor that demands courage — bravery to defy the fear of revealing my private sensibilities. It feels correct to build from my own sense of the beautiful, even when it may appear to be unruly and startling.
As an artist, I need to manifest the dreams of my imagination. This calms my spirit and brings peace to me. To be a creator is the foundation that supports my own opinion of my self-worth, a value that coincides with living a joyful life. When I am building artistic expressions in my studio, I feel most like who I am. It is my hope that as you experience my work, you will feel most like who you are.
